Paws Apart is made by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("we"). This policy explains what the game collects, why, and the choices you have. Contact us any time at support@pawsapart.com.
Playing offline
The campaign, Zen and offline Insane work without an account. Your progress and settings are stored on your device.
What we collect when you play online
- A game account: a random device ID (not your phone's hardware ID), the username you choose, your avatar, and your age band (the year you enter is used only to decide whether you can type chat messages; under-13 players get quick messages and stickers only).
- Game data: campaign progress backups, ranked rating, match history and race replays, tournament results, Insane scores, leaderboard entries, creatures and frames you have unlocked.
- Social data: your friends list, friend requests, and chat messages with friends (filtered for bad words and links).
- Anonymous level statistics: for each campaign level, whether your first attempt was solved, hints used, lives lost and time taken. These are only kept as totals across all players.
- Reports and safety records: reports you file or that are filed about you, and any warnings, suspensions or bans.
- Notifications: if you allow them, a push token from Google or Apple so we can tell you about invites, friends, chat and tournaments.
- Technical logs: server logs (such as IP address and errors) kept for up to 30 days to run and secure the service.
How we use it
To run the game's online features, keep matches fair (including reviewing cheat reports), keep chat safe, back up your progress, and fix problems. We do not sell your personal information.
Who else handles it
- DigitalOcean hosts our game server (United States).
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service deliver notifications.
- [Add ad networks, analytics or payment providers here when the game uses them.]
Children
Players under 13 can play, but cannot type free-text chat; they can only send preset messages and stickers to friends. [EDIT: review COPPA obligations before launch, especially once ads are added.]
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your account data while your account exists. You can delete your account in the game (Profile → Delete account) or by email; see Delete your account. Backups are kept for up to 30 days and then overwritten.
Your choices
- Turn online play off in the game's settings to play entirely offline.
- Turn notifications off in the game's settings or your phone's settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, at support@pawsapart.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the game's mailbox.
